On behalf of Sofema Aviation Services, Kevin Rookes had the pleasure to deliver Aviation Safety Management Systems performance audit focused training courses to delegates from the Ministry of Transport Republic of Indonesia Directorate General of Civil Aviation, and Air Nav Indonesia. The Training took place from October 23rd to October 26th, 2018.
About the Training
SMS Auditing Techniques
Safety Assurance is a formal forward-looking management process within a Safety Management System (SMS) that provides confidence that an organization’s products/services meet or exceed safety requirements.
It is not unusual to discover confusion exists when discussion turns to Quality Auditing versus Safety Auditing regarding the specific functions of the two different undertakings.
We should consider that Quality is essentially looking at compliance, and that Safety is looking at Risk. Therefore, a SMS should focus extensively on the analysis of the data derived from the contributing elements of the various impacted areas.
The SMS identifies, as an essential goal, the improvement of Safety Performance, and in so doing aims to deliver an improvement in the control of exposure to risk.
This 2 Day course focuses on the best practices and techniques to deliver a Safety Audit, with emphasis on understanding how to gather, view and interpret SMS data in a meaningful way.
